The Board of VICCIR regretfully announces the resignation of our esteemed Executive Director, Dr. Azin Nasseri. Dr. Nasseri’s leadership and dedicated service have contributed greatly to the growth and development of our organization, and we are deeply grateful for his contributions.
Effective January 1, 2025, an interim leadership team consisting of Dr. Soraya Centeno, Abeer Smadi, and Ana Escalante will oversee executive functions in addition to their existing operational roles. This interim arrangement will allow the Board to focus on recruiting a new Executive Director during the coming months. To ensure smooth communication during this period, the Board has appointed Adrienne Carter as the liaison between the leadership team and the Board.
The Board deeply appreciates the interim leadership team’s willingness to take on additional executive functions during this period and has full confidence in their ability to guide the organization through this transition. Together, we remain steadfast in our commitment to supporting and advancing VICCIR’s vital services for immigrants and refugees.
